Farewell speech

Korean women¡¯s association
Honorary chairman Bang-Hee Eun

I dedicate this speech to deaconess Kwi Ok Yeu.

I find it so amusing to reflect back on our relationship, having been given life in the same generation and being led to Yeonglak church, sharing the love as a sister in Christ. Throughout the many years I have always known that you and your family are special in many senses, and that God¡¯s blessings have been poured upon your family. I would thus appreciate your family, as if looking at a bunch of sweet flowers.
There was a friendly and faithful Deaconess who made a visit around the houses in the rural area of Gyeongsang province. She once came across a young man who seemed out of the ordinary. Unlike the standards of the world, she looked at the man through faithful eyes and decided to take him in as his son-in-law.

This man however, grew to become one of great fortune, and it was not a surprise to hear that their children were also very outstanding. I believe that being born under such respectful deaconess was itself the start of the blessings.
Like your mother, you have dedicated your life to serving the Lord in his works, recognizing your children as gifts sent by God, educating them with the word of God so that they would grow up to become faithful leaders in the national, international, and economical spectrums.
Furthermore, I continue to witness your children taking on your legacy and sacrificing their lives to carry on your temperance works of rescuing poor lives that are suffering from the addiction of alcohol and smoking. As I do, I savor upon the realization that many blessings are poured on the descendants of pure and faithful souls.

As a woman role model, you have given hope and courage to so many of your fellow sisters. Your words of encouragement have also motivated me to become a chairman of a women led organization, and your wonderful daughters have assisted me with endless prayers and support.
You had so much left to teach us, that you even taught us through the silence of your journey as you hovered between life and death. Countless people have been caught in thought and were inspired through the lives of your children also, and God continued to awaken many souls in the midst of their prayers. Although we wished for a miracle to see your smile once again, you entered the greater life of eternity.
Despite the absence of your physical presence in the backyard of Yeonglak church, we will engrave the love and service you have left us in our hearts and will always remember it.

Now that you have completed the complex journey of the world, rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.
In the hope that we would meet again in the Kingdom of the Lord,

23rd March 2006,
Bang-Hee Eun
