Part Three: Love is Enduring - My Family
30. My Conviction for Children’s Education
I thank God that my children grew beautifully. I meditate upon God’s grace with which the Lord has raised them to be so lovely. God, who first gave me the precious gift of children, has worked to let them grow into beautiful beings in three way. I want to share what they are because I want to help young mothers and fathers there are three ways. First of all, prenatal care is an important step. While I was pregnant, I read only the Bible for nine months, never even glancing at another magazine or newspaper. I also prayed for the babies during the nine months which filled them with the Holy Spirit even in the womb, allowing the children to be born with good characters. The second step is teaching them the Bible. When breast feeding my children, I held them in my arms and told them about Jesus, Joseph, Moses, David and Goliath, and Esther. This helped them get acquainted with the stories from the Bible even before they went to Sunday school. It instilled in them a love for the Word of God. Every evening, the family gathers for family worship. We all love this time. The time we love the most is when as we praise, read the Scripture, and pray together. The third step is having them go to Sunday school. During their early years of childhood, before they start kindergarten, my children learned the Word of God, hymns, and how to pray in Sunday school. As children share fellowship with friends at church, they grow beautifully. Children who grow with these three spiritual foods will develop good characters when they enter school. The knowledge they acquire will be built on this firm foundation. The education obtained from schooling becomes a smooth step for these children and can be compared to intricate embroideries made upon good cloth, which is already well woven by excellent materials. May all the glory be to God, Who, by giving us wisdom and faith, has led us to build a house of character upon the everlasting rock that is Christ. Amen. |
